Christian Dior John Galliano Mata Hart necklace Haute Couture Collection A/w 1997-98 Historically Important (Price Upon Request)

£0.00

From John Galliano’s first haute couture collection for the House of Dior — the legendary Mata Hari, Autumn–Winter 1997–98 — this gloriously decadent necklace is a showstopper of high-drama and haute craft. Dreamt up by Galliano at the dawn of his Dior reign, it captures the intoxicating mix of sensuality, storytelling and spectacle that defined his couture debut.

Handcrafted by Goossens Paris — the fabled jeweller behind Dior’s most elaborate runway treasures — it’s a shimmering fantasy of silver-plated lace, fine chain links, and cut brilliants that catch the light with every movement. From its ornate frame, deep-green glass teardrops tumble like secrets whispered by its muse, Mata Hari herself.

A twin of this design resides in the V&A’s permanent collection — though theirs is incomplete. This one, however, is the full drama: a complete, couture-born masterpiece.

A wearable relic of Galliano’s most theatrical era — and a direct ancestor to the look reimagined for Kim Kardashian’s 2024 Met Gala appearance in Galliano for Maison Margiela. Adjustable from 30 to 39 cm (12–15 in), with a total drop of 38 cm (15 in). A rare chance to own a slice of Dior history — equal parts fashion, fantasy, and fabulous.
