“THE JEWEL OF INDIA”

A handbag so rare we thought it was just an urban myth. The #India World Anniversary Saddle Bag was created as one of twelve variants. Each evoking the spirit of the country it represents, entwined with the house of Dior. Created to commemorate the 10th‑year tenure of #JohnGalliano as creative director of #Dior. These bags demanded the world’s attention, and still demand mine.

For months, many of you have been requesting for me to bestow this beauty upon your eyes. How could I not relent; so here are some visuals to give you a tactile understanding of the finish and deepen your fervours.

Originally, it was going to be kept back for my book, but I have so many secrets left for that. So it feels good knowing now this legacy piece can be seen beyond the documented blurry photo on Google Images or the odd listing on a site that expired years ago. 

Beyond its phenomenal minute details, history and elusiveness. This and the rest of the set’s pieces, though faceted, are works of pure unadulterated art when viewed through the right lens. They are considered to be, in my embellished opinion, as precious as the most refined cargo hauled in to the #Louvre Museum in #Paris.

Without the protection afforded to Picassos’, it’s a fact that not many have survived due to their delicate nature, as well as there only ever being 100 pieces of each country ever produced. Regardless, for me they are quite literally worth more than their weight in gold.
