Chanel: Hands On With the New 22 Bag

It’s been a serious amount of time since I purchased a current collection Chanel piece from the store that isn’t for my exhibition archive.  But this one is solely for me to wear and enjoy as an everyday classic. 

It’s super easy to be sucked into the whole investment spending culture where we never truly enjoy or appreciate our items for fear of devaluing them. Well an investment doesn’t always mean financial - it’s about investing in the things we need, love and will serve the purpose until they are threadbare or with corners riddled with holes.  There’s always one accessory in your wardrobe that makes you hit your inner fuck it button.  It’s gorgeous enough but relaxed enough to be used rather than saved for best.  

Well (finally) I have found the perfect piece in the new ‘22S’ back-pack. You know I’ve mourned for Chanel since the passing of Karl in 2019, and although he lives on through his signature touches and inspiration - forever be infused throughout the house - I still look for the quirky design features which were so much a feature of his thought-provoking collections. 

The 22S backpack is crafted from the most beautiful lambskin and it surpasses even the quality of the new “22” shoulder bag which I had initially gone in to investigate.
