Chanel: No Prescription Required

By Louis Entwistle

What keeps us buying, selling and chatting at great lengths about Chanel bags and accessories is the defining eras of the house. It could be the power-dressing charms of the late 80s, the supermodel making sex appeal of the 90s or in this case, the era of new muses. The 2010s for the house marks the final era of Largerfeld’s tenure and is fast on its way to becoming just as iconic as its vintage counterparts.

Think massive sets, distinct themes and a return to Karl’s simplistic rules of couture. Structure over substance. We think of those who styled these pieces, Cara Delevingne, Lily Rose Depp, Alexa Chung and of course our favourite Pharrell Williams. This beautiful pill-esque sunglasses case bag we have in our possession has been styled by both Williams and Rihanna, amping up it’s rarity and desire on the secondary market.

We absolutely love that it’s function as a sunglasses holder pales in comparison to its application as a minaudière style handbag. Fashioned in the smoothest lambskin leather and decorated with a simple CC emblem, there is a reason Jackariaeh has been getting his fair use out of it! Originally available in a plethora of colours, this seasonal beauty is our favourite in black as it makes the champagne hardware on the chain pop.

Whilst ours will be remaining in the vault for a while longer, we encourage you all to do your research on this era of bags for the house, who knows what you will get back investment wise for being ahead of the curve!
