Hermès: Double Intake Special

The insiders guide to two beautiful bags that have flown through our doors!

For every collector it’s always about waiting for those extra special pieces that you can find in an instant.  Or it can take you a decade after scouring the globe for that unicorn hue or unique finish.

This exquisite rare 2019 Hermes Kelly Sellier horseshoe 25cm has been finished in my absolute favourite - Epsom leather.  Whether it’s a Birkin or a Kelly if you’re after, the durability this leather really does step up to the mark and has a wonderful grain. Being a Sellier stitched finish with the seams on the outside means it’s extremely robust. In my opinion a Kelly bag in this specific finish really does give it air of powerful grace.  And let’s not forget it’s finished in this wonderful hue of “Jaune D’Or”- we can only describe this as a creamy marigold.  Imagine an egg yolk off to live in a yellow meadow fantasy.  With the rich gold hardware and black contrast bonded trim it really does reminds us that the Easter Bunny is not too far around the corner.

The second big arrival! Welcoming this Hermes Birkin 35cm Raisin, multi veau box calf Vibrato to the P.S. Family. This particular leather finish was discontinued in 2007 so as a vintage piece this is most definitely a little special and worthy of the P.S. seal of approval.  To achieve this extraordinary finish means a painstaking process of stacking multiple layers of leather which has been finished to the front and back of this Dream sac magique. The result is handcrafted in the Hermes atelier by artisan craftsmen in chèvre (goat) leather.  As you know, my personal favourite Birkin size is a 35cm.  I simply don’t understand the hype for this bag in smaller sizes - for me bigger is most definitely beautiful.  And my little Hermes dream is enjoying a staycation at the famous Soho Farmhouse.  You know the big “H” - always riding up back with the cool kids!
